"Aps Aps 6/6/04] Dakar - La mythique chanson "Ya Rayah" de Dahmane El Harrachi, reprise et arrangée par Rachid Taha, a séduit, vendredi soir, les Sénégalais qui ont suivi sur l'île de Gorée le chanteur algérien qui s'est produit, lors de la cérémonie d'ouverture du festival international "Ebony".Dès son entrée en scène, le chanteur algérien a soulevé de cris de joie de centaines de spectateurs triés sur le volet, avant de faire trémousser de dizaines d'autres dès l'envoi des premières notes de musiques sur la tristement célèbre île des esclaves.
Le show d'environ 4 minutes a été un intense moment d'ivresse pour beaucoup de jeunes et de moins jeunes qui n'ont pas cessé de danser, de taper des mains et d'accompagner le chanteur, en reprenant l'air de la chanson pour certains.
Beaucoup de Sénégalais, parmi les voyagistes notamment, connaissent Rachid Taha, a confié une Sénégalaise à l'APS, alors qu'un de ses compatriotes a estimé que les émigrés africains se reconnaissent dans la chanson "Ya Rayah" qui traduit de manière précise leurs sentiments nostalgiques, a-t-il expliqué.
Le chanteur algérien a eu d'autant plus de succès qu'il s'est produit aux cotés d'autres chanteurs de renom tels que le chanteur américain Jimmy Cliff, le Sénégalais Youssou Ndour ou l'Ivoirien Meiway... Le festival est organisé pour sensibiliser les gouvernements et la société civile pour la lutte contre le sida. "
